In public auction recently, the property on the corner of Metter Road and West Louisiana Avenue was sold. The 1.432 acre site was once the home of Soperton Stock Yard, but in recent years it has been the home of the "White Elephant," the large unused building.
After the auction, careful review, and legal examination, the Treutlen County Development Authority conveyed the property to Royce Fowler at a cost of $49,500.
