Treutlen County Drivers Take AARP Safety Program

This group of drivers improved their abilities by attending the AARP Driver Safety Program, Thursday afternoon at the Treutlen County Senior Center.  The six-hour course included a participant workbook to take home, discussion led by Jim Soles, and a series of two-minute videos.

Several easy-to-remember driving tips were introduced.  Everybody brought away at least one practice they plan to use in driving.

When following another vehicle, how far should you be?
What do you do when it's raining?
How are you mirrors supposed to be adjusted?
Why is driver courtesy important?
How can you avoid left turns?
If you are about to be hit in a head-on crash, what do you do?

Did you answer all 6 questions correctly?

Although the program is sponsored by AARP, many younger drivers take it, too.  Call AARP toll free at 1-888-227-7669 for a course near you or go online to www.aarp.org/drive

Or you may call Jim Soles at 478-237-3567.

(By the way,  you may get a discount on your insurance if you take the course.)
