In the 1950's R. M. Sparks created Soperton's second subdivision on East Main Street. The first was the Bill Estroff subdivision between West Louisiana and the railroad. One of the houses of the Sparks division was that of the Dr. A. J. Yates family. The old house was demolished and the lot cleared a few weeks ago.
