Treutlen Sheriff Tommy Corbin will speak at the Summer meeting of the Treutlen County Historical Society on Sunday, July 12. His subjects will be the history of the Sheriff's Office and duties of Sheriff. The public is invited to the meeting at the Library at 2:30 p.m.

PHOTO TIP: We like taking fireworks early, so we can capture some foreground and background -- ground lights and silhouettes, clouds and smoke. The same is true for Christmas lights; turn them on while it is still twilight.

Here is a group of mostly Treutlen Countians watching the fireworks at their traditional vantage point, high on the hill overlooking Kroger.

The nesting bird was safe. The mowing crew has avoided cutting the bahaia grass at its spot, and all the drivers who parked on the hill respected it, too. Anyone know what kind of bird it is?

July 4th Traveling

Many vacationers and holidayers (is that a real word?) keep to the interstates, but the more adventurous take "the road less travelled. A group of Floridians stopped at McLeods with their RVs, canoes, and bicycles Friday morning- at least five teams.
