Fall Is in the Air and on the Ground

.
We've asked E-NEWS fans to tell us about the most unusual fall decorations they've seen in Treutlen County. Here is an example at the home of Sue and Terry Edenfield on US 221 not far from the county line. Their grandson Tylan Hardy helped to decorate the classic tractor.

People over 40 can appreciate the great changes in school facilities over the years. In sports, the top Soperton football team played at the old field, now a part of Jean Gillis Park. Outstanding basketball was played in McArthur Gymnasium. The first stands at the Bobby Driggers Stadium were built from a loan co-signed by several football boosters, but the Boosters Club worked a number of years to pay it off. Wayne Sumner expanded the old field house next to the canning plant, then later he played a leading role in the construction of the field house at Driggers Stadium. The Boosters also built the curb around the track. In later years, the track was paved, the field was sodded, new visitors stands, concessions, and bathrooms were added, new lights. There's one of the finest gyms in this area. Baseball facilities are lighted and in good shape. Many people have been responsible for creating today's football facilities and supporting school athletics and recreation sports. Be proud!

Friends and Families Watch the Little Champions

.
On a recent late sunny afternoon the fans gathered to support their football team and cheerleaders. They are working hard to be at their best in a few years when they will be the big THS students. Hats off to the spectators for their support of the growing little ones.
