Ready for Adoption

A special announcement from Marlee,
Chief Advisor of TREUTLEN E-NEWS:

I have personally inspected these two adoptable kittens, who are ready to meet their new family.

My own  family strongly favors adoption. I'm glad they adopted me and put me in a responsible position.

And the answer is....

Beaver Runn Road

originally named John Phillips Rd

runs from GA 46 to Corsey Grove Way originally named Joe Moxley Road

The pond is a part of the headwaters of a tributary flowing down to Wildwood Lake. The Google Maps satellite image was made when the pond was dry. (http://maps.google.com/  Type in 30457 and go from there. Other Treutlen County dirt roads were washed out in the winter rains, too.

Questions:
Why does Runn have two of letter 'n'?
How does Google know our old closed roads, when the official maps don't show them?
Why are pine trees growing in the old roads?
What was wrong with the original names?
Will your grandchildren be able to ride dirt roads, or will they have to rely on Google to see what Treutlen County looks like?

In facebook terms: LOL

Where in the county is this?

Wonder if the Census will count the beaver population in Treutlen County. It is tremendous. For 20 years (at least) people have tried to trap and eliminate the critters that cause so much damage to timber (which may need to be counted, too).  This is one of the big beaver nests, and we wonder if anyone will recognize the location. Leave a comment if you do.

Good Fishing at Blackville

Jessica Parrish and her four daughters, Sarah (15), Hannah (13), Lorah (11), and Kaylah (9) enjoyed their Spring Break by doing a little fishing with friends. This string of fish was caught in less than 2 hours at the Tobacco Barn Pond located in Blackville and owned by Jessica's Great Grandmother, the late Mrs. Thelma Ricks Hermann.

Vikings Beat Telfair

The Treutlen Vikings shut out Telfair County Friday afternoon, continuing their winning season, as they've lost only three games with two to go.  Both opponents are tough, as Treutlen beat Johnson County by only one point, and one of three losses was to ECI.  They'll be traveling to Johnson County Tuesday and finish the regular season Friday in Soperton hoping to vindicate themselves for the loss with ECI.
